Seeing my boyfriend: I had the best weekend ever when I got to visit my boyfriend in Florida at the beginning of the month. I saw him for about three days after not seeing him for two months, and I cannot put into words how incredible it was to see him. He introduced me to the big school life, we had many food dates, and watched a bunch of bad movies (lol my b). I’m looking forward to December when we can spend more time together.
Dinner with family & home cooked meals: I’m sad to say that it’s rare that I visit home, so I love the chances I get to sit at home with my family and have a home-cooked meal. I am deprived of Korean food while I’m at school, so going home and getting my grandma’s authentic Korean food is wonderful.
Mother daughter day: Like I mentioned before, I rarely go home so I cherish every moment I get to spend with my family members when I get the chance. We had a nice shopping day and a nice talk over lunch in the Mosaic District.
True Food Kitchen (Merrifield, Virginia) is my aesthetic to a T– they have a photogenic green/brown/grey color scheme with marble tables on the patio. The patio is also heated, which is perfect for Fall days when it’s chilly.
Food recommendations: Margherita Pizza (vegetarian), Spaghetti Squash Casserole (vegetarian & gluten free)
Drink recommendations: Thai Grapefruit Margarita
Kung Fu Tea (Centreville, Virginia) was my go-to while I was at home (I was home for three days and I went there four times… I didn’t go to Starbucks at all). Their drinks are super refreshing and they have something for everyone’s tastes.
Drink recommendations: Winter melon tea with mango jelly, Mango Snow (slush) with mango jelly, Mango Green Tea (punch) with mango jelly — they have other toppings like tapioca, but I personally prefer the jelly because unlike the tapioca, I don’t think it takes away the taste of the tea.
